What’s on at the coast’s top casino resorts — the calendar below always shows upcoming dates.
Brighton’s biggest card weekend of the season, with a guaranteed prize pool and a noon start on the marina. Two starting flights, late registration through the early levels, and a terrace to escape to between hands.
A one-day tournament at the harbourside venue with a friendly buy-in and a clock slow enough to keep beginners in their seats. Cards in the air at one, and most players are finished in time for dinner on the quay.
A cabaret evening on the Promenade marking the start of the pier season, with live singers, a compère and the Tower lit up outside. Tables are available for dinner beforehand and the bar keeps going after the last number.
A higher buy-in event for experienced players, capped in numbers and played across a single long afternoon and evening. Registration closes early, so arrive before the two o’clock start if you want a seat.
A set-menu seafood dinner at the seafront venue, leaning on the day’s landings and served early enough to leave the rest of the evening free. Places are limited and booked in advance; the bar stays open long afterwards.
A low-key charity tournament near the pier, with a small entry, donated prizes and a rebuy hour for the impatient. Proceeds go to a Dorset cause and the whole thing wraps up well before midnight.
A dressed-up night at Gunwharf Quays with a band, a late licence and the Spinnaker floodlit across the water. Tickets include a welcome drink and a table, and the quayside terrace stays open for anyone needing air.
A guaranteed-pool tournament for the shoulder season, starting at noon and running through the afternoon at the marina. A gentler structure than the Main Event, and a good introduction to live tournament play.
Coastal calendars wobble, so take these as a rough steer. Have a word with the venue before you set off. Dates move with the seasons on the coast, so check before you book a room, and remember that poker entry is restricted to guests aged 18 and over under UK licensing.
